About Ensemble Burletta

Ensemble Burletta, a chamber group exploring repertoire for clarinet, strings and piano in various combinations are fast gaining a reputation for exciting performance and thoughtful, creative programming. Recently back from a tour of Scotland, where they reintroduced Hans Gál’s under-valued and rarely-performed Clarinet Quintet to enthusiastic audiences, they are participating with the Insiders Outsiders Festival, a year-long nationwide event celebrating the contribution of refugees from Nazi-dominated Europe to British culture.

Ensemble Burletta's members have performed together or with other ensembles in prestigious venues such as the Wigmore Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, the Southbank Centre and the Barbican, and performed in festivals such as Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival in Finland and Sani International and Demetria Festival in Greece. They have given concerts in Europe, South Africa, New Zealand, China, South America and Canada and have been broadcast by BBC Radio 3.

Ensemble Burletta's recent recording of clarinet chamber music by Hans Gál for Toccata Classics received glowing reviews in the Gramophone Magazine.
